HIKING OR WALKING
The Chamonix Valley offers a multitude of walking and
hiking routes, in picturesque alpine scenery and giving
panoramic views of Mont Blanc. Les Houches has numerous
groomed and well marked footpaths and tails ranging
from mountain tops, alpine pastures and glacial valleys
to wooded slopes with powerful waterfalls. Easy to follow

MOUNTAIN BIKING
There are numerous mountain bike trails
from Les Houches to Chamonix. A special mountain pass
is available for the summer months and bike trails depart
from the top of the lifts. Les Houches tourist office
organise half and fill day tours.
ROCK AND ICE CLIMBING
Would you like to attempt a snow or ice climb at altitude?
Learn to climb or refine your techniques during the
summer months at the Mont Blanc Indoor Climbing Centre

before trying the real thing in the Chamonix world famous

ANDRENALINE HIGH ACTIVITIES
Rafting, hydro-speed, canoeing, kayaking and canyoneering

PARAGLIDING & HELICOPTER
RIDES
Would you like a truly spectacular bird's eye view of
Chamonix Valley? Kailash Adventure (www.kailashadventure.com)
offer professional instruction, as do Les Ailes du Mont
Blanc and Summits Parapnete.
GOLF
Chamonix has a superb golf course, which is open to
the public. This high altitude course is located alongside
the River L’Arve and affords stunning views of
the Mont Blanc Massif and the Aiguilles Rouges. The
course is open from May to November. Further information

Nearby Megeve also has a spectacularly positioned golf
course on the Mont d’ Arbois Plateau. This course
is open from June to October and is approximately 40mins
drive from Les Houches.
ACTIVITIES TAILORED FOR
CHILDREN
The Chamonix Valley offers a wide range of activities
for children. Kid Adventure, Les Houches offers adventure
in the trees including rope ladders, beams, bridges
and Tarzan swings all of which are highly supervised
by instructors.
